Revenue generated from the Tap & Pay transactions and other transaction fees will be used to buy and burn OBT and burn periodically to remove tokens from circulation. The buyback amount is determined as follows:
Variable Burning Rate:
Instead of a fixed rate, OBT is using a variable burning rate that adjusts according to predefined platform metrics such as user growth rate, transaction volume growth, or platform liquidity indicators. This rate will be recalibrated quarterly adapted by the platform's evolving economic landscape.
Performance Index:
A composite score that reflects the platform's performance across several key metrics. It could be calculated as an average of normalized growth rates for user growth, transaction volume, and liquidity indicators:
Each growth rate is normalized to a scale (e.g., 0 to 1) to ensure equal weighting in the index.A fixed percentage of the Treasury is for burning following a dynamic element based on platform performance and milestones achieved (e.g., user base milestones, engagement levels).
Base %: This is the baseline percentage of the Treasury funds designated for burning in a given period, established to ensure a minimum deflationary action irrespective of platform performance.
Performance Multiplier: A predefined factor determining how strongly the platform's achievements affect the Treasury burn percentage. This multiplier fine-tunes the burn rate's sensitivity to the achievement score.
Achievement Score: A composite score reflecting the platform's performance against set milestones, such as user base growth, engagement levels, and other key performance indicators (KPIs). The score could be calculated as follows:
Current Performance Index: An aggregate measure of current platform performance metrics.
Target Performance Index: The predetermined target values for those metrics within the same period.
Community Engagement Index (CEI): A novel component that adjusts the percentage of Treasury funds to be burned based on a composite index of community engagement metrics (e.g., daily active users). The higher the engagement, the lower the percentage of Treasury funds burned, reflecting a thriving platform ecosystem that might require less deflationary pressure.
Active Users: The number of unique users who have interacted with the platform within a specific timeframe (e.g., daily, monthly).
Content Interactions: A measure of how users engage with content, including number of payments, and other forms of content interaction.
1, 2, 3 = Weight coefficients assigned to each component, reflecting its relative importance to community engagement.
